Jordan looks for repeat win at Spa

The Jordan F1 team will be hoping history repeats itself when the team returns to the scene of its finest moment at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix

Damon Hill and Ralf Schumacher led a Jordan 1-2 in 1998 and team boss Eddie Jordan will be hoping for more of the same at this year's event.

'I think everyone in the Jordan team is looking forward to Spa,' said Jordan. 'It has so many great memories for us.

'I think we can allow ourselves a few minutes to re-live those feelings, but no more than that. We have to keep pressing on to secure our third place in the championship.'

The Belgian Grand Prix is notorious for unpredictable weather.

Last year's rain-soaked race was restarted following a high speed smash involving more than half of the field.

Later in the race, Michael Schumacher collided with David Coulthard, handing Jordan its first ever victory.

Jordan's managing director, Trevor Foster, is confident both Hill and Heinz-Harald Frentzen will perform well in Belgium.

'No doubt Damon will have fond memories of his victory here last year, and this should be a big boost to him,' said Foster.

'All the drivers love the Spa circuit and gain real satisfaction out of racing here.'

Frentzen, who won for Jordan at this year's French Grand Prix, is relishing the challenge of tackling one of F1's fastest circuits, 'It is very exciting for different reasons.

'I like it because it is a very natural track with long straight lines and very interesting turns into the forest.

'The fast corners are challenging and Eau Rouge is the most exciting corner of the F1 season.

'And of course the weather is so unpredictable which adds even more excitement.'
