After an encouraging start to the season, the Jordan team has risen up to championship third. Now team boss Eddie Jordan has vowed to stay there despite the strong competition his team will face at this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix.
He will be looking for his drivers to consolidate Jordan's position by continuing a successful run that has seen the team take third place in the last two years at Brazil's Interlagos circuit.
"Third in the championship is where the team wants to stay," said Jordan. "The first two races have gone well for us, but we are up against stiff competition.
"Heinz-[Harald Frentzen] has finished third in Brazil for two years running, so if we can maintain that form and see Jarno [Trulli] in the points too it would be perfect."
That may not be too much to ask, however, as Trulli feels comfortable at the circuit and expects to go well there.
"The circuit suits my driving style and I have always been strong there," said the Italian driver. "So I hope for more good results."
