Jordan delighted with fifth

Giancarlo Fisichella claimed his and Jordan's third consecutive points finish with fifth place in the Canadian Grand Prix

"This is a fantastic result," enthused team boss Eddie Jordan. "We did a great job all weekend and Giancarlo was super today. It shows we are going in the right direction and that we are closing the gap on Sauber and Renault."

Fisichella was equally delighted. "The car was quite competitive, especially just before my pitstop," he said. " We had a good balance and I was quicker than Raikkonen at the end, but I prefered keeping fifth position instead of risking anything. I have always been very confident at this circuit and today our hard work to find the right balance and downforce level has paid off."

Takuma Sato completed a good day for Jordan with 10th place after an early race charge, a welcome change of luck from the series of accidents which have plagued him in his debut season.

"I am pleased to bring the car home," said Sato. "I had a difficult start, losing a position at the first corner, but later I started overtaking the cars in front of me."

Jordan now has six points in the constructors' championship, crucially putting them significantly ahead of Honda rivals BAR.
