Jordan Decide not to Appeal; Resigned to Losing Case

Jordan Grand Prix have decided not to appeal today's High Court decision, and a judgement in the case of the team against Vodafone will be delivered early next week.

Jordan Grand Prix have decided not to appeal today's High Court decision, and a judgement in the case of the team against Vodafone will be delivered early next week.

Jordan requested to discontinue the case earlier today, however Mr. Justice Langley of the London High Court rejected their request. The judge said he would deliver a judgement in the 150-million-pounds case unless Jordan find a judge who would accept their appeal against his decision not to discontinue the case.

However, in a statement made this evening at Hockenheim, Germany, team owner Eddie Jordan said he will not appeal today's decision nor any judgement made in this case.

"Regretfully it is clear that we are not going to win," Jordan said in a statement. "We'll take the judge's ruling on the chin and then put this behind us. I must now channel all my energy into getting Jordan Grand Prix back on track for the rest of this year and for many years to come."

The ruling in the Jordan-Vodafone case is expected to be delivered on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning next week. Should the judgement be made against Jordan, the team may be required to pay legal fees to Vodafone. This would be on top of an estimated one million UK pounds Jordan already spent over this case.
