Grapevine: The Schueys are Looking for a New Home

Michael Schumacher and wife Corinna are in the hunt for a new estate, the driver's manager Willi Weber revealed.

The Schumachers have a villa at Vufflens-le-Chateau, a leased estate in Switzerland, near Geneva. However, the couple and their two children, Gina Maria (4) and Mick (2), are now looking over properties in Nottwil, Luzern.

"Michael would like to move with his family to the German-speaking part of Switzerland," Weber explained, "so that their children can go to a German-speaking school. Both Michael and Corinna would like to be able to help their children when they get homework."

The planned move was kept so far under heavy secrecy. However, real estate agents and local businessmen have been hired over the past few months to prepare the grand moving for the famous family.

"The Schumacher couple visited our village in February and were accompanied by the Managing Director of the regional promotion of economy development," said the municipality's CEO, Robert Arnold. "Their move would be a large thing for our region," he added.

The new Schumacher home will include extensive stables for Corinna's horses, Arnold revealed, as well as plenty of acres of greenery for the large number of pets the couple have. Arnold also said a request was made to the local millitary airport in the nearby Emmen, to allow Schumacher to land his jet plane there.

However, Weber said this weekend that Nottwil is only one of the options the Schumachers are considering. "There are two or three options they are looking at," Weber said, adding that a decision will be made soon.

Weber also said that the move means the couple, who moved to Switzerland in 1996, will be able to plan their "dream house" from scratch. "The new property will be built exactly like Michael and his wife want," Weber said. "The current house they live in is nice, but it already existed when they moved in."
