Free practice 3: Raikkonen fastest

Kimi Raikkonen set the fastest time in the first session of Saturday free practice for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix as the McLaren team bounced back to the top of the pile after a quiet day yesterday when the team blamed a "dirty" track

The championship leader lapped the Circuit de Catalunya in 1m19.012s, a quarter of a second faster than Antonio Pizzonia. The Brazilian driver's performance will be a boost in his quest to keep his drive beyond the weekend.

Rubens Barrichello indulged in a quick spin at Turn 4 but ultimately set third quickest time with the new Ferrari F2003-GA.

David Coulthard was fourth fastest with the second McLaren, just ahead of Michael Schumacher's new Ferrari and then Jarno Trulli with the first of the Renault R23s. Heinz-Harald Frentzen was seventh for Sauber Petronas, from Juan Montoya who ended his session early when he put his Williams FW25 deep into the Turn 6 gravel.

Giancarlo Fisichella and Ralf Schumacher completed the top 10, with Jenson Button 11th, Ralph Firman 13th and Justin Wilson at the bottom of the pile.
