Luciano Burti will continue testing for Ferrari in 2004 on a part time basis, having signed a new contract with the Italian team.
The Brazilian, who was the second testing driver for Ferrari in 2002, will be doing testing work for the Maranello squad during the season when needed.
"This year the team will only have Luca Badoer as a full time test driver," Burti explained. "Another point is that Ferrari has also been working very closely with the Sauber, and one of their agreements, is that Ferrari can use Sauber's official drivers in their testing work during the season if needed.
"Despite these factors, because Ferrari has such a busy test program and because our good work of 2002, they signed me to be part of their line up as well.
"This is another great opportunity for me with Ferrari and I'll do my best to help the team once again. Another good thing about the contract is that, when I am not involved with F1 testing, I am free to test and race in other categories, so I am already discussing some other possibilities for 2004."
