Ferrari aim to dominate Brazilian GP

Ferrari are not even thinking of taking a tactical approach to the Brazilian Grand Prix, as they admit the only option for them is a 1-2 finish for Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa tomorrow

Although Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso can afford to play a strategic game as they aim for the title, Ferrari chief designer Aldo Costa says their job is simple this weekend - dominate the race.

"To be honest, we've tried to do the same in the last few races," said Costa. " We just need to be focused and concentrated on the race. We're trying to get the best results with both cars. This is the best we can do this weekend."

Costa is hopeful that the team have banished the difficulties they faced earlier this season in getting the supersoft tyre that will be used this weekend to work.

"So far, at the circuits where we've used this tyre, the results have not been good enough - like Monaco and Canada," he said. "But we think we've understood quite a lot about this tyre.

"Budapest, for example, was only a problem in qualifying, and in the race the car was quick. Let's hope we've understood. We'll see."

With wet weather affecting the opening day of practice, Costa thinks it is too early to judge whether McLaren or Ferrari have the edge at the moment.

"It was not very a good day to be honest to judge where we are, where they are," said Costa about Friday. "The track conditions were different lap to lap.

"At the end, the drivers were quite happy about the car balance but again, as the weather conditions were changing the tyres and the different behaviour, it was difficult to comment to be honest."
