Button sixth -- wanted more

Jenson Button qualified sixth for the United States Grand Prix but said he could have done even better

The 20-year-old Brit added to his growing reputation as he competed on equal terms with the rest of the grid for the first time this year as the sport made its first appearance in America for nearly a decade.

He lapped four-tenths fastest than team-mate Ralf Schumacher down in 10th place.

"It's not too bad to be on the third row but it would have been nice to be on the second or even the first," said Button, on the weekend Williams finally confirmed Juan Pablo Montoya as his replacement.

"It's been a good weekend and hopefully we can do even better in the race."

Button said he was looking forward to racing on the oval banking.

"It should be great and we may see cars two abreast. It should be great fun, this circuit is great for overtaking. You can really feel it on your neck and in the car in the corner."
