Brawn: Schumacher Has No Weak Points

Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher has no weak points as a driver, and his commitment has not changed despite his success, according to Ferrari's technical director Ross Brawn.

Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher has no weak points as a driver, and his commitment has not changed despite his success, according to Ferrari's technical director Ross Brawn.

Brawn has masterminded Schumacher's career and has helped him to four Formula One world titles with the Benetton and Ferrari teams, but despite his success, the German driver's focus hasn't changed.

"Technically, Michael is terrific and has no weak points that are obvious," Brawn told Autocar magazine. "I've seen no sign of his passion and commitment tailing off. He just loves driving racing cars."

Since Schumacher joined Ferrari at the start of the 1996 season, the Maranello-based squad have won two Drivers' and three Constructors' Championships, and Brawn knows that the influence of the German four-time Champion has been fundamental to their success.

"Michael's driving at crucial moments has been the key to many of Ferrari's successes over the past few years," Brawn added. "He can dig deep and gives us the very best reference point a team could have. We have won several races because Michael has responded exactly when we needed him to."
