BMW offers Williams help with chassis
BMW has offered to help Williams develop its revolutionary FW25 chassis for the 2003 season as part of its all-out effort to turn the tables on Ferrari, according to this week's AUTOSPORT magazine
Team boss Sir Frank Williams has admitted that this year's FW24 car was "too conservative" and has promised a radical challenger for next year. BMW has now said it will do all it can to help.
BMW Motorsport director Gerhard Berger said: "Williams has already modified its aerodynamics team and we've offered to help them in other fields. To draw level with Ferrari, Williams must take a quantum leap.
"Just like we had to make an effort with the engine two years ago, it is now Williams' job to improve the chassis. I'm convinced they will manage a huge step. A revolution is possible," he added.
