Barrichello happy with learning progress

Brazilian Rubens Barrichello said he was happy with the progress made with his Honda team in testing at the Barcelona circuit this week

Barrichello has struggled to match the pace of teammate Jenson Button since the start of the season, the Brazilian failing to adapt to his new squad following a switch from Ferrari.

The nine-time Grand Prix winner has had trouble adapting to the braking system and the traction control of his Honda, and he has been working to get on top of the problems at Barcelona this week.

"I have been struggling not only with the brakes - it is a combination of brakes and traction control, the way this team applies traction control is different to what I'm used to," Barrichello told autosport.com during testing at Barcelona.

"I know how it works, and I know I can perform to a certain level with this, but to get the last ultimate bit out of it, I cannot seem to do it.

"So I am teaching myself to adapt, as well as changing the system to adapt to me, like meeting in the middle.

"At the moment only Jenson can drive it. He has developed the car for the last three years. Also the car needs improving, and that's what we did.

"I am quite happy with the progress."
