Barrichello 'driving better than ever'

The Brazilian, who in Turkey celebrated his record-breaking 257th Formula One grand prix, reckons he just needs a competitive car to show his true form.

Barrichello scored his first points in over a year at last Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix, where he finished in sixth place with the Honda.

The former grand prix winner, 36, says he has been boosted by the arrival of Ross Brawn to the team and admits he is not thinking about stopping yet.

"I am very motivated and with the joining of Ross Brawn, I definitely feel that we are undergoing a change for the better," Barrichello told the official Formula One website.

"For sure, the car is not that good yet for what I want to achieve, but right now I have the feeling that I am driving better than at any other time, so all I need is a quick car to perform. My mind still says yes to racing."

He added: "Obviously everything comes to an end sooner or later, but I have seldom felt better physically and mentally, so in my head it's only a number right now.

"I don't feel like 36, I don't feel that I have that many races under my belt. I am just enjoying the time - and I am driving well."

The Brazilian, winner of nine grands prix, added that he misses stepping on the top step of the podium.

"I miss winning races - in fact I miss it terribly," he said. "That's why I put so much effort into testing and getting things done. I just know that I am prepared whenever the car is ready. And on Sunday the cycle overlapped."
