Barrichello confident of bouncing back

Rubens Barrichello has admitted his Formula One debut with Honda has left him disappointed, but the Brazilian believes he will soon adapt to his new team and overcome their teething problems

Barrichello joined Honda as Jenson Button's teammate after driving for Ferrari in the past six seasons.

And, along with a new team environment, the Brazilian also has to adjust to different tyre brand - having moved from Bridgestone to Michelin - and a different engine spec, with the new V8 regulations.

"There's no excuse, I just have to get it going," Barrichello said in an interview with autosport.com. "For someone who thought that we had a car to win the first two races, it's a little bit below the expectations, so we have to keep on working really hard."

While Barrichello has left the first two rounds of the year with no points, teammate Button is third in the championship standing, with 11 points - with a fourth and a third place finish in Bahrain and Malaysia, respectively.

The 33-year-old made it clear, however, that he does not begrude Button's relative success.

"Jenson is just used to the car, and he's doing a superb job," Barrichello said. "I'm not too concerned about my pace [compared] to him, I'm concerned that I'm below my own expectations on the driving. It's not a mind game now, I'm just re-learning something on the car.

"To be honest with you, it's disappointing having scored zero points in both races. But at the end of the day I know where I stand, I know how I can to go to bed and really rely on my talent.

"I will overcome the problems. It's not a thing of being arrogant or anything, I just have to keep my head down and work as hard as I can, and things will be done."
