BAR Complete Silverstone Test - Final Day

The BAR Formula One team completed today their preparation work for the first Grand Prix of the season in Australia.

The BAR Formula One team completed today their preparation work for the first Grand Prix of the season in Australia.

British test driver Anthony Davidson was again in action at the Silverstone circuit, completing the final shakedown of the Honda-powered 006 cars the team will use in Melbourne. Today the Briton completed 23 laps around the National circuit. No times were issued.

"Yesterday was all about putting miles on the engine and reliability checks before Melbourne and today I shook down all three race cars," said Davidson at the end of test. "The engines ran faultlessly all week and we seem to have got on top of reliability.

"It was my first proper time in the new car yesterday and I am now comfortable and have got a good feeling for the car. I was really pleased with my time as I have not been to Silverstone for two years so it was amazing to have the new car and be three seconds quicker than I have ever been here before."

BAR said they have completed a total of 21,000km in pre-season testing.
