Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya set the fastest time in the morning session of testing at Barcelona, Spain, where the British team began testing today alongside Sauber.

Montoya, driving alongside teammate Ralf Schumacher and test driver Marc Gene, set a time of 1:18.079 - over one and a half seconds faster than Schumacher, who set the third fastest time of the morning, behind Sauber driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen.

Frentzen, with a time of 1:19.606, and his teammate Nick Heidfeld - who set the fourth fastest time - were both testing the 2003 Sauber car, the C22, for the first time.

The two teams will be joined by most of the other Formula One teams as of tomorrow.
