Coulthard Looking to Maintain Indy Record

Scot David Coulthard is eager to continue his point-scoring record at the United States Grand Prix this weekend - after he secured top-six finishes on his previous two visits to Indianapolis.

The McLaren driver finished fifth in 2000 before claiming third last year and Coulthard is out to maintain his points-scoring record in the US event on Sunday.

"I've secured points finishes in both of the previous races, and this is a record I am looking to continue," Coulthard said. Although it was an incredibly emotional weekend last year, the American fans once again created a fantastic atmosphere and I hope we can put on a good show for them.

"There are a couple of clear overtaking opportunities at the track, the primary one being under braking into the first corner, that leads you off the oval."

Coulthard, 31, who currently lies in a disappointing fifth place in the Drivers' Championship, admits that the visit to the historic Indianapolis circuit is one he looks forward to.

"Indianapolis is among the most historical and prestigious racing venues in the world, in my mind it is up there with Monaco and Spa," he added.
