Panis Hoping Honda Sort Out Problems for Monza

British American Racing driver Olivier Panis is hoping Japanese manufacturer Honda can find a solution to fix the engine problems that hampered during most the weekend.

The Frenchman suffered three dramatic blow-ups during each day of the weekend, his Belgian Grand Prix finishing on lap 40 when the Japanese power unit exploded spectacularly. Teammate Jacques Villeneuve finished in eighth position in today's race.

Italian Giancarlo Fisichella, who Jordan car is powered by the same Honda engines, also suffered a major blow-up during today's race, while teammate Takuma Sato had already succumbed to the same problem on Friday.

Panis, who will start test at the Monza circuit next week ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, said he was hoping Honda can find a solution to their problems before the next race.

"I was heavier on fuel than most of those around me so I didn't get such a good start because of that and, as everybody saw, I lost places. After that I battled as hard as I could to regain position but it was too late," said Panis.

"I kept pushing throughout the race and I could have finished behind Jacques but once again I was unlucky with the engine and that was the end of my race. I really hope that we can fix the problem because Monza is a power circuit and it's going to be a tough race. We're testing there next week so have a lot of work to do."
