Barrichello Aims to Leave Problems Behind

Brazilian Rubens Barrichello is hoping for a change of fortunes at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix after a run of disappointing races.

The Ferrari driver was left stranded on the grid in two of the last three races due to mechanical problems, and he was again hit by trouble during the German Grand Prix last month, finishing in fourth place and sliding down the order in the drivers' standings.

"I have to think these problems are just a coincidence, because that is exactly what they are," Barrichello said in Hungary today. "It would be stupid to think otherwise, because the team certainly does not want to see the car up on jacks at the start of the race.

"All three of the problems I experienced in the last races have been different. The important thing is to learn from these problems to ensure they do not happen again."

Barrichello, who will continue to drive for Ferrari next season, is currently five points behind second-placed Juan Pablo Montoya of Williams. The Brazilian now has the full support of his teammate Michael Schumacher, who has promised to help him clinch the runner-up spot.

"I have finished fourth and I have finished third," added Barrichello. "So of course, it would be nice to do better. I have the support of the team and second place would be welcome right now."
