Trulli Raring to Go after British GP Crash

Renault's Jarno Trulli is ready for action in Germany this weekend after suffering no after-effects from the biggest accident of his career at Silverstone eight days ago.

The Italian, winner in Monaco in May, said on Monday he felt fine after his British Grand Prix crash when his car demolished a tyre wall, flipped and landed upside down in the gravel trap before righting itself.

"The car did an excellent job protecting me, and I felt fine immediately after the race," he said at a team preview for the German Formula One Grand Prix at Hockenheim. "I just want to get back in the car, and put in a more positive weekend than we had in Silverstone.

"We didn't achieve the performance we wanted in the race, and that was a disappointment, so we must step up and take the fight to our immediate competitors."

Second-placed Renault failed to score at Silverstone, allowing rivals BAR to close the gap between them to 12 points while runaway leaders Ferrari moved a huge 95 points clear.

"Predictions are becoming so hard to make - we really have to wait until Friday in order to judge where we stand, once we have tried the tyres," said Trulli, whose crash was blamed on suspension failure.

"Getting that choice right will be absolutely critical, as it seems that each weekend, it is a different Michelin team challenging Ferrari.

"We will be working hard to ensure it is us so that we can consolidate our championship position. We have updates to the engine and the aerodynamics, and they will definitely help us with these objectives."
