Fisichella aiming for podium finish

The impact was so fierce the Italian has no recollection of the smash.

"I am very relieved because I had had no physical problems at all, but I can't tell you much about the accident because I don't remember it," he admitted.

"You should see the chassis. It was a very big accident, but luckily I have no physical problems at all now. In fact I feel very confident for this weekend.

"I have been fitness training from last Friday to this Tuesday and I feel very fit."

The accident followed his second collision in two days with Jordan driver Jarno Trulli and the duo are to discuss the issue at a safety meeting over the Monaco weekend.

"I spoke to Jarno at the football match and we have a meeting in the next few days. There are no problems at all we are still friends."

Whether that continues as he aims to continue his run of Monaco results remains to be seen.

"I like Monaco. I have finished sixth, second and fifth and I hope to get some points this year - and maybe even get on the podium.

"Our car is getting better. There have been little improvements since the last race and I am quite pleased about the balance of the car even though we lost testing time after my accident in Valencia."
