Gascoyne pleased with Spyker's progress
Spyker's chief technical officer Mike Gascoyne was pleased with his team's pace during the Spanish Grand Prix despite both their drivers finishing two laps down
Adrian Sutil came home in 13th position after losing valuable time during his second pitstop, where the German stalled his engine as he tried to return to the pitlane.
Teammate Christijan Albers finished in 14th place following a drive-through penalty for ignoring blue flags.
Despite their positions, Gascoyne believes the team's pace has improved compared to previous races.
"Again it was a step forward for us in getting both cars home," he said. "It was a relatively trouble-free race, although stalls for both drivers in the second pitstops and Christijan's drive-through penalty cost us a little bit of time and, for Adrian, also lost us a position to Button.
"Our pace was however more competitive than in previous races and we had good reliability, so now we have to concentrate on bettering the overall package and getting new parts on the car that will improve our speed relative to the others."
