Zanardi woe continues

Alex Zanardi's miserable season continued when he retired after 10 laps of the Hungarian Grand Prix sparking more speculation he will not drive for Williams next season

The double Indycar champion skidded off the circuit while running in the lower half of the field.

He returned to the track only to drive back to the pit lane and straight into the Williams garage with a damaged differential - the second race in succession it has broken and at least the third time this year it has failed.

'Something went wrong with the differential and unfortunately I am familiar with the feeling,' he said.

'When it started happened I already knew what it was and that it was terminal. That's why I went off - what can I say?'

The Italian who is contracted to drive for the ex-champions next year has failed to score a single point this season while team-mate Ralf Schumacher has scored 22.

He has only finished three times in 11 races and the best of those was eighth at Monaco.

But he has shrugged off the speculation about his future saying he is concentrating on the racing.
