Damon goes for a spin at Silverstone
He may have decided to race in the British Grand Prix next weekend, but Damon Hill suffered a familiar problem at Silverstone when he went off the track in testing
After postponing his retirement for one final race, Hill returned to testing today and in spite off his off-track excursion found himself among the top 10 drivers. His car suffered only minor damage.
He participated in the morning and afternoon sessions, recording a best time of 1:28.237 in his 38 laps.
Top of the times was Rubens Barrichello, who after his French GP qualifying display was perhaps again demonstrating his liking for damp conditions, as Silverstone was overcast all day with some showers.
The other wet-weather specialist Michael Schumacher finished fourth, with his team-mate Eddie Irvine in fifth, keen to keep up with the leaders and especially Barrichello following rumours that the Brazilian is on his way to Ferrari next year.
Tomorrow is the final day for the teams to test before the British GP.
