Honda working on solving start problems

Jenson Button and teammate Rubens Barrichello qualified fourth and sixth respectively for last weekend's German Grand Prix, but Button dropped down behind the two Renaults at the start, while Barrichello had lost three places by the end of the first lap.

Honda have been having problems with their starts since the season began, and while Fry says the team are working on improving the situation, he admits there's no quick fix.

"Our starts are still not particularly good," said Fry. "Renault do well, McLaren do well. Our cars bog down after the initial start. It's been a problem for some time, it's not new.

"It's something we have to get on top of. It's good to be fourth and sixth but it is very disappointing when you lose most of it at the start.

"The cause: it's a combination of things - the particular characteristics of the engine, electronics, the slip characteristics of the clutch. It's not the easiest of things to fix, but we are working on it."
