Toyota looks for second half improvement

The team has been blighted by poor reliability this season, and has so far finished in the points on just two occasions. However, Andersson is convinced that the quality of the team's overall package will ensure it improves in the remaining races.

"After the opening eight races of the season, I have to admit I have mixed feelings about our performance and results so far," said Andersson. "Yes, I am disappointed that we have not been able to score more than four championship points, but we have demonstrated that we have a strong package with our excellent drivers, car and team.

"This was clear at the last race in Canada, and now we have to continue in this way for the remaining races."

Olivier Panis finally scored his first point of the season with an eighth place finish in Canada, and the Frenchman hopes it will mark an up-turn in his form for the rest of the year.

"I was pleased to open my points account in Canada," said Panis, "and we should expect more solid finishes as the rest of the season unfolds, although I don't want to make any concrete predictions for this weekend."
