Add Jordan to the 'A' list, says Haug
Mercedes motorsport boss Norbert Haug believes Jordan-Honda cannot be ruled out of the list of potential winners in today's (Sunday's) San Marino Grand Prix
The Silverstone-based team, which has won three Grands Prix in its 11-year history, was the surprise addition to Haug's list, along with the acknowledged 'big three' of Ferrari, Williams-BMW and McLaren-Mercedes.
"There are four teams up there at the moment," said Haug as pole-sitter David Coulthard topped the morning warm-up for McLaren. The Jordans were seventh and 10th, after qualifying fifth and ninth.
"Us, Ferrari, Williams and Jordan could all be up there for the race on Sunday," mused Haug. "Williams have got a strong package. I am not surprised by their performance. I also think the Michelin tyres can do the job.
"In qualifying, I thought there were a couple of people who were able to go for pole position, but at the end of the day, we achieved it."
He added: "All the team did a great job. We had some new parts on the car and all compliments should go to the drivers because they really went for it. In the end, it was a one and two and I hope we can have a very similar day on Sunday."
While McLaren have annexed the front row, the Schumacher brothers are on the second row, with Trulli fifth and Rubens Barrichello sixth.
