Jamie Green feels he's in a career "happy hour" after claiming a pair of DTM victories at the Lausitzring last month, taking his 2015 tally to three from four races

Green ended a 1035-day drought with his first win for Audi during the Hockenheim season opener, and dominated both races at the Lausitzring as Audi swept the top four places in the Saturday race and the top five on Sunday.

"It took me a while to settle in at Audi, but I think it's fair to say I've settled in now," Green said.

"The car's working, I don't need to adapt my driving style to the car. It suits me, I'm quick most of the time, so it's kind of happy hour in terms of your career when you jump in and you're quick every time."

Green claimed a 17-point championship lead at the Lausitzring, and the next round is at the Norisring, where he won four times in five years between 2008 and 2012 with Mercedes.

He acknowledges it's way too early to start thinking about end-of-year silverware.

"I think if you start dreaming about championships after two weekends, you're a bit silly to be honest," he said.

"There are still 14 races to go, it's not like the old days when there were only 10 chances to score points, so there's still a long way to go.

"I've won championships before and I'll play it my way and try to win as many races as possible."

AUDI: COMFORTABLE DRIVERS THE KEY

Audi's Lausitzring domination came at what has traditionally been Mercedes' happy hunting ground - having won eight races at the circuit since 2005 - and despite the bulk of its drivers carrying ballast as a result of its Hockenheim wins.

Including two victories at the end of the 2014 season, the manufacturer's run of consecutive wins stands at six, and its DTM boss Dieter Gass said that it was tough to name a catalyst for the form.

"It's a bit difficult for me to judge, to be honest," he said.

"The performance of the car was there as well last year, straight away. We had pole position in the very first race but we took a very long time until we managed to achieve the first victory of the season for different circumstances, something always somehow went wrong.

"At the end, when we managed to get everything together, we started to win races and obviously we have tried over winter to build up on that and further improve the package that we had at the end of last year.

"I think one of the differences, if I see what happens in some of the sessions, this season our drivers can go out and be on the pace straight away, in the very first laps, which means that we have a car currently that everybody feels comfortable with and everybody is able to drive to the limit and get the performance out of it.

"What makes the whole equation sweeter for us is that this time we are using the potential in the very first races at least."
