Audi expect to be strong at Zandvoort

Audi believe that they will be just as quick at the next DTM race at Zandvoort as they were last time out at Mugello

The A4s dominated practice and qualifying at the Italian circuit, but they had a difficult race which was also affected by the safety car.

However, the team believe that they will be strong again at Zandvoort, where they have traditionally performed well in recent years.

"There is absolutely no doubt that we will be strong at Zandvoort," said Tom Kristensen. "The motivation within the team is even greater after Mugello.

"We saw in Italy that simply having the fastest car sometimes isn't enough, everything has to be perfect."

Audi's head of motorsport Wolfgang Ullrich believes that the Dutch circuit is very similar to Mugello, which is why he is expecting a good weekend.

"The circuit at Zandvoort has very similar characteristics to Mugello, which means we should be just as quick there," he said.

"The Audi A4 was the fastest car at Mugello, but we want to make much more out of the race there than we did in Italy."

Audi's Mattias Ekstrom heads to Zandvoort with a championship lead of 6.5 points.
