Son to partner Jordan next year

Mike Jordan will have his son Andrew as a teammate in the British Touring Car Championship next year

The 49-year-old has raced in a one-car team in the series for the past two years, but for next season Team Eurotech will prepare a second Honda Integra for his son.

"I'll get a huge buzz from seeing Andrew develop," said Jordan. "This is the culmination of a lot of hard work with our sponsors to get into this situation, and the fact that it is going to happen is probably still sinking in at the moment."

The younger of the two has been racing in the British Renault Clio Cup this year, as well as competing in rallycross events.

The 18-year-old is confident that he can handle the step up to the BTCC, although he is keen to keep his aims realistic for his first season.

"There is no expectation on me at all," he said. "I'm just incredibly grateful for this amazing opportunity.

"I will learn a huge amount from Dad and I've got to make the most of it. I want to enjoy the whole experience and I'd like to get some top six finishes by the end of the season."
