Neal looking for history repeating
One year on from his famous giant-killing victory, Matt Neal returns to Donington Park for rounds three and four of the British Touring Car Championship this weekend
This event last year saw Neal become the first independent driver to win a race overall when he defeated works Honda star James Thompson in a spectacular dice, winning £250,000 for his efforts.
'The results from Brands Hatch don't reflect how competitive we are,' said Neal, who was involved in contact with Honda team-mates Tom Kristensen and James Thompson during the season opener, restricting him to a tenth place finish in race one. This was a disappointment after the Team Dynamics driver had topped headed the pack in several pre-season tests.
'We won at Donington last year and we will be hoping to do the same again,' Neal declared. 'The car and driver are certainly up for it.
'We are all looking to get things moving and get some results for everyone at Donington. The championship challenge starts there! Let's see if history can repeat itself...'
