Jordan not surprised by testing pace
Mike Jordan has said that he was not surprised to be so competitive during the first official BTCC test on Tuesday
Jordan was within one tenth of a second of the fastest time of the day set by VX Racing's Fabrizio Giovanardi, and he was pleased to be in good shape ahead of the new season.
"We're delighted with that, it shows that going into our second season we have hit the ground running and I'm not surprised that we've been fast straightaway," he said.
Jordan is familiar with his package ahead of the new season, as he will once again race a Honda Integra as he did in 2006.
However, he is expecting other teams with new cars to be stronger by the time the season starts.
"That's not a picture of how things will be when we get to the first round at Brands Hatch as the other teams will certainly raise their games over the next couple of weeks," he said.
"We're maxed out, that's pretty much it. We've just got to wait for the other teams to edge up on us."
Jordan will not be eligible for the overall championship this season, as his Integra is built to BTC-spec regulations rather than Super 2000, which has become the main set of rules in the series for 2007.
