Jelley a doubt for Rockingham races
Stephen Jelley could miss next weekend's British Touring Car Championship round at Rockingham due to a date clash with the GP2 Asia Series
Jelley, 25, is scheduled to drive his Team RAC BMW at Rockingham on April 13, but had already committed to racing for GP2 squad ART Grand Prix in Dubai long before confirming his deal with the tin-top team.
Team RAC boss Dick Bennetts isn't sure whether ART will release Jelley for the BTCC round.
"It's our preferred situation to have Stephen in the car at Rockingham," he told autosport.com "He did very well in the tests there and we think he can do extremely well again in the races.
"He's gone to Bahrain this weekend to hopefully sort out a deal with ART that will allow him to do just that, but if he can't, we do have three drivers lined up that could fill in."
Bennetts would not confirm any of the drivers on his wishlist, but autosport.com believes that Porsche Supercup racer Danny Watts is one of them.
