Jackson makes it two from two

Mat Jackson made it two British Touring Car Championship wins from two races with another dominant display at Brands Hatch

The BMW Dealer Team UK driver started from pole position and led the race in its entirety, taking his fifth victory of the season in the process and leaving him just five points behind Jason Plato, who is second in the drivers' championship.

Second place looked likely to go to one of the Motorbase BMWs, who ran in formation behind Jackson for most of the race, but a late charge from Matt Neal put paid to their aspirations.

The Vauxhall driver passed Kane for third at Clearways on lap 15 with a forceful move, and then nailed Collard at the same corner later on, this time with a little nudge to help him along.

Colin Turkington, who was on Neal's tail all race, followed the Vauxhall through on each occasion and finished third in his Team RAC BMW. His result also limited the damage done to his Independents Championship lead by Jackson.

Turkington is now 12 points ahead of Jackson and will take the title if he finishes seventh in the class in the final race of the day.

Collard and Kane were fourth and fifth with Tom Chilton and Andrew Jordan next up.

Tom Onslow-Cole was eighth and will start the final race of the day from pole position under the reverse grid rules.

It was a bad race for SEAT as both Jason Plato and Darren Turner failed to finish. A broken steering rack robbed Plato of fourth place at half distance while Turner slowed on the final lap, giving up eighth place in the process.

But it was even worse for Vauxhall's Fabrizio Giovanardi. The newly re-crowned champion failed to start the race due to engine problems on his Vectra. Both will start the final race from near the back.
