Hollamby to continue in BTCC
Shaun Hollamby's AmD Milltek squad will continue in the British Touring Car Championship next year after announcing a tie-up with fans' initiative yourracingcar.com
The team will continue to run a lone Volkswagen Golf for Hollamby, who will compete under the AmD Milltek Racing with YourRacingCar banner.
It will also switch from a normally-aspirated Super 2000 engine to the TOCA turbocharged unit.
"Our debut season in the BTCC has been fantastic and the support we've had in our first year has been more than we could have hoped for," he said.
"We've seen what YourRacingCar has been doing through the season and it's the ideal way for fans to get more involved with our racing programme."
YourRacingCar backed the Special Tuning UK SEAT driven by Phil Glew at Silverstone and had been evaluating setting up a team of its own to compete in next year's BTCC.
However, its founder Hannah James believes that hooking up with an existing squad is the best option for 2011.
"After our outing at Silverstone, one thing was crystal clear when we spoke to our members, and that is that the BTCC is where they wanted to be," she said.
"We've been hard at work since Silverstone to look at the options available to us for 2011 but when Shaun and AmD Milltek Racing made the approach, it was a no-brainer for us."
