Giovanardi wins eventful race two
Fabrizio Giovanardi has taken victory in an incident-packed race two at Snetterton, ahead of Matt Neal and Jason Plato
The VX Racing star had started from fifth place on the grid, but he was up to third at the start and pulled off some great overtaking moves on Mat Jackson and Gordon Shedden to take the win.
Neal's second place was similarly impressive - he had started from 18th on the grid, having finished race one a lap down due to a puncture.
Plato's third place was also a hard-fought one, his SEAT Leon having a big coming-together with Tom Chilton, but he was ultimately let through by his teammate Darren Turner, who finished fourth.
The gap between Plato and Giovanardi in the drivers' title standings is now 16 points, with the SEAT man still having the upper hand.
The race was punctuated by two long safety car periods, the first for an incident involving Chris Stockton and Fiona Leggate, which saw Leggate's MG ZS airborne.
The second, which wiped out Giovanardi's 3.5 second lead, was called when Turkish driver Erkut Kizilirmak took a trip through the fields.
