George finalises BTCC return
British Touring Car Championship veteran John George will remain in the series this season and will once again campaign a Honda Integra-R
George has bought the car that Dave Pinkney raced for Motorbase Performance in 2006 to replace the similar model that he destroyed in a crash at Brands Hatch at the end of last season.
His car will be run by Trevor Humphrey's TH Motorsport squad for a third straight year and the 47-year-old driver is excited about returning to action after the dramatic end to his 2008 season.
"I am really looking forward to working with Trevor and the team at TH again," said George. "It all ended very sadly for us last year when I had that big smash, so it will be good to see them all again.
"I am hoping for some better results this year. We really didn't have the luck in 2008, we went quicker at all but one tracks yet we just didn't feature in the positions though we should have, but that's racing."
George finished 21st in the BTCC last year and 13th in the Independents' championship with a best finish of 10th at Snetterton.
