Aiden Moffat continues with Ciceley Mercedes for 2016 BTCC

Teenager Aiden Moffat has confirmed that he will return to the British Touring Car Championship again next season at the wheel of a Ciceley Racing-run Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Moffat became the youngest participant in the BTCC when he took part in the 2013 Knockhill event aged just 16 years, 10 months and 28 days.

He contested a full season in a Chevrolet Cruze in 2014 before teaming up with the Ciceley Racing team to handle the Mercedes this year.

Moffat, who is backed by Laser Tools, finished 17th in the points and scored a podium finish in the reversed grid race at Knockhill in August after WSR BMW driver Andy Priaulx was relegated for pushing the Scotsman out of the way.

He will again team up with 2015 race winner Adam Morgan, who will also return for the team in his Wix Racing-backed Ciceley-operated car.

Moffat said he has high hopes for 2016.

"Once you have had a podium, you have to aim to repeat that or get even higher: anything else is just going backwards," he said.

"I learned a great deal about the tracks and the set-ups this season, and that will give us the confidence to go forwards.

"Working with Ciceley Racing, having a team-mate for the first time and learning from engineer Paul Ridgway have all been very positive experiences.

"We have a solid platform to build on for 2016."
