Tielemans completes Alfa line-up
Olivier Tielemans has been announced as the second driver for the N.Technology Alfa Romeo team for 2007
The Dutchman will partner James Thompson at the team, who have scaled down to a two-car operation for the World Touring Car Championship this season.
"This is the best drive I have ever been offered to it's fair to say that I am really happy," said Tielemans.
The 22-year-old competed in three DTM races in a 2004-spec Audi last year, before three other drivers took the seat during the rest of the season.
"DTM is the highest level I have ever competed in before this so I hope to use my experience from there to do well," he added.
Tielemans will be expected to perform well when the WTCC races at Zandvoort for the first time, as he has plenty of experience of his local circuit.
Team boss Mauro Sipsz believes that Tielemans will be a good supporting driver to Thompson this year.
"In signing Hames, we have a great driver in the team," he said. "It has always been my ambition to partner him with a worthy, experienced driver, and we have found that in Olivier."
Prior to his DTM races, Tielemans had competed in Formula 3000 and Formula Renault.
