Thompson happy after Alfa run
James Thompson believes that he and Alfa Romeo have unfinished business in the World Touring Car Championship
The 31-year-old drove for the Italian manufacturer in 2005, and he believes that they will be strong enough to mount a title challenge at the third attempt this year after having his first test of the season at Vallelunga this week.
"It's great to be back with all the guys this year and to get back into the 156," said Thompson.
Augusto Farfus made a late challenge for the WTCC title last year, but as he heads to BMW for this year it is up to Thompson to lead the team.
"The team are determined to fight for the championship this season and that is exactly what I want to do," he added.
"We have unfinished business here and it's great to be back to take on the challenge again."
N.Technology team boss Mauro Sipsz believes that Thompson's previous experience with the team will enable him to be on the pace right from the start of the season.
He said: "It was immediately clear from the test that James is going to hit the ground running this season thanks to his past experience with the team.
"He gets on really well with the guys in the team, and he has proven his pace time and time again."
