Priaulx fastest on day one at Brno
Andy Priaulx set the fastest time on the first day of World Touring Car Championship testing at Brno on Tuesday
The reigning world champion was just two thousandths of a second faster than his BMW teammate Jorg Muller, as the German cars took the top four places at the Czech circuit.
"I'm not quite interested to be the fastest in testing, but this is promising for when we'll be back here for the races," said Priaulx.
Only BMW and SEAT took cars to the test, with eight drivers running during the first day.
Touring car rookie Tiago Monteiro was the fastest of the SEAT drivers, and the former Formula One driver was just two tenths of a second adrift of Priaulx's best lap.
"I didn't even realise I was the fastest SEAT," said the Portuguese driver. "We are progressing step-by-step and I am trying to learn as quickly as ever.
"But we still have to work on the little things that make the difference the moment you hit the track during a race weekend."
