Muller, Huff, Menu on Citroen's WTCC list

Citroen Racing team principal Yves Matton admits Yvan Muller, Rob Huff and Alain Menu are frontrunners for a drive alongside Sebastien Loeb in the firm's new World Touring Car programme

Matton, who admitted on the weekend that he also hoped to tempt Robert Kubica to a limited programme, said recruiting a driver with title-winning experience was a priority.

Menu has already tested for the team, while Matton met with Muller and Huff during the weekend at Porto.

Citroen has confirmed it will run at least two cars in next year's championship, with Matton insisting the target is to immediately fight for the manufacturers' world championship.

"The drivers on the [championship] podium last year are in the best position, but for the moment there is no ideal choice; they all have different advantages," Matton told AUTOSPORT.

"I am not in a hurry to decide though. Maybe we will test with the drivers before deciding.

"I want to take the best driver, but that is not only [measured] by performance; it's the ability to fit into the team, to work with Sebastien and help Citroen win the title.

"The technical approach is also very important for us, to help us improve as fast as possible.

"I will listen to Sebastien, but the final decision is mine. I hope to announce it by the end of the summer."

Muller's current tally of 34 race wins is unsurpassed in WTCC history, although Huff (24) is second and Menu (23) third on the all-time list.

The trio spent three years together in Chevrolet's works effort, with Muller champion in both 2010 and '11.

Huff prevailed last year however, defeating Menu by 13 points and Muller by 20 en route to his first world championship crown.
