Menu penalised for Macau
Alain Menu has been handed a 10-place grid penalty for race one at Macau next month for causing an avoidable collision
The Chevrolet driver was involved in a heated battle with Dirk Muller, which even continued after the chequered flag, as Menu drove into the BMW on the slowing down lap.
Menu was handed a suspended penalty after an incident with Luca Rangoni at Istanbul, meaning that another infringement would automatically cost him 10 places on the grid for the next race.
Championship contender Andy Priaulx was one of two drivers to pick up a suspended penalty at Valencia last weekend, after his collision with Gabriele Tarquini at the start of race one which forced him to retire.
Priaulx said after the race: "I thought I had passed Tarquini and turned into the corner. He didn't want to go onto the grass and I don't blame him, but he can't blame me either, it wasn't intentional."
Priaulx will have to be on his best behaviour during the crucial championship decider, as any breach of rules at Macau could ruin his title chances.
Alex Zanardi has also been handed a suspended penalty, for improving his time during the warm-up while yellow flags were out on track.
