BMW to retain same drivers for '08
All five of BMW's factory drivers in the World Touring Car Championship will remain with the manufacturer for the 2008 season
While Andy Priaulx was recently confirmed for next year with BMW UK, the manufacturer has announced that Jorg Muller, Augusto Farfus, Alex Zanardi, and Felix Porteiro will all keep their seats for 2008 as well.
BMW's motorsport director Mario Theissen said that the announcement was made at this time to enable the teams and drivers to concentrate on this weekend's season finale at Macau.
"The previous 20 races in the championship have shown that we are very well equipped with this set of drivers," said Theissen. "Therefore, we see no reason to change anything for 2008.
"Ultimately, continuity is an important factor in ensuring successful cooperation between a team and their drivers.
"I am certain that our quintet will also play an important role in the coming season. But for now we are concentrating 100% on Macau."
BMW have three drivers still in contention for this year's WTCC crown, which Priaulx has won for the past two years.
