BMW drivers expect tough weekend

BMW's lead drivers are expecting a tougher challenge in Zandvoort this weekend due to the extra weight that they will be carrying

Andy Priaulx, Augusto Farfus, and Jorg Muller dominated the first weekend of the season in Brazil, but they will have to contend with success ballast and a weight-break for their rivals at the Dutch track.

"I am predicting a different situation than what we saw in Curitiba," said Muller. "Augusto, Andy, and myself have extra weight on board.

"Added to that is the reduction in weight for our competitors, so my only aim is to take as many points as possible."

Farfus also believes that the team may not be fighting for victories this weekend.

"We will have to wait and see how the changes in weight affect us," he said. "We will have to get points to stay up there with the leaders."

The drivers have been running with the extra weight in testing though, and the German cars have been quickest at the majority of the tests in since the first race of the season.

Priaulx said: "Our preparations for the start of racing in Europe have been very good, but we need that because the challenges ahead of us are anything but easy."
