Holjes World Rallycross: Timmy Hansen leads for Peugeot-Hansen
Team Peugeot-Hansen driver Timmy Hansen leads the Swedish round of the World Rallycross Championship at the end of the first day at Holjes
Hansen was fastest in heat one and won his second heat to head the order overnight, ahead of overall heat-two pacesetter Andreas Bakkerud.
In the last Supercar race of the day, Hansen led from the start and took his joker on the last lap to head home Johan Kristoffersson, Petter Solberg, Mattias Ekstrom and Eric Faren in a thrilling race.
"It's been a long time since we've had a good Saturday," said Hansen, whose time in the second heat was the fourth-best overall.
"Even though we were fastest in heat one, I knew we had to put the day together.
"It's great to top the standings, it's a big difference to what we have done in the last few races."
Latvian Reinis Nitiss is third overall in the second of the OlsbergsMSE Fords, while championship leader Solberg is fourth after suffering poor starts in both heats.
Ekstrom lies fifth while Junior World Rally Championship and Euro RX competitor Ole-Christian Veiby is sixth.
British driver Liam Doran won both of his races and is eighth overnight, one place behind Russian Timur Timeryanov.
Davy Jeanney, winner of the German round, is currently just outside the semi-final qualifying positions having picked up a front puncture in the first heat.
Norwegian Daniel Holten won his second heat in Eklund Motorsport's new VW Beetle and is 17th overall, while double World Rally champion Marcus Gronholm's son Niclas is making his first World RX start in Sweden and is 20th after the first day.
