Enerberg replaces Jeanney at Monster World Rallycross team

Lars Oivind Enerberg, the 2011 European Rallycross Touring Car class champion, will replace Davy Jeanney in the Monster team for the final two rounds of the World Rallycross Championship

This weekend's penultimate World RX round at Istanbul Park will be Enerberg's first Supercar appearance in any series.

The Norwegian has not raced regularly since his championship season due to budget constraints, instead focusing on domestic competition in his homeland.

He tested an LD Motorsports Citroen DS3 recently at Loheac in France.

"I can't wait to drive for the team and do the best I can," said Enerberg.

"It will be a challenge for sure, as the level is very high, but I am 100 per cent focused on at least fighting for a place in the semi finals, if not more.

"The torque and acceleration of the Supercar are very impressive, and I enjoyed the testing I completed in Loheac.

"Even though it was a big step from the touring car I raced before, I felt comfortable in the car."

Enerberg becomes the third Touring Car champion in the World RX Supercar field, joining Anton Marklund (2012) and Derek Tohill (2010, '13) on the grid in Turkey, alongside fellow support category winners from Super1600, Reinis Nitiss (2013), Andreas Bakkerud (2011-12) and Timur Timerzyanov (2010).
