Wilson wants regular points in '07
Matt Wilson is hoping to have the consistency to finish in the points on regular occasions during the new season
The Brit is about to begin his second season in the World Rally Championship, and he is aiming to build on his single points-scoring finish from last year.
"We should have scored points on more rallies last year but sometimes we missed out through errors or mechanical problems," Wilson said on the central stage at the Autosport International show.
"It was good to score points for the first time last year, and the aim for this year is to finish in the points more often."
Wilson is expecting to be stronger in his second year in the championship, now that he has experience on the events.
"We're up against guys that have been doing this for many years," he said. "But being back for a second time should make a big difference for me."
He also believes that the new events on the calendar will allow him to get closer to the front as his rivals will not have the advantage of previous experience.
"The new rallies will be good for us," he said. "Whenever we were on new stages of events last year we were a lot closer to the front."
