SS8, Escaladei 1: Bug bites back
Philippe Bugalski neatly turned the tables on team mate Jesus Puras on the second stage of leg two, completing the 14.43km Escaladei 1 stage 11.1s quicker than his Spanish Citroen team mate, to more than wipe out the gap Puras had opened up.
Puras also lost ground to other top runners as Peugeot's Didier Auriol and Gilles Panizzi and Mitsubishi's Tommi Makinen all blasted through the stage quicker than he could.
Francois Delecour this time came out on top in the Ford v Ford battle, matching Puras' time through the stage, with Carlos Sainz just a tenth of a second slower. Sainz stays ahead of Delecour overall.
Richard Burns continues to battle up the order. Eighth fastest time on the stage for the Subaru number one means another place up the order. Burns is now 10th overall, one place ahead of his Estonian team mate Markko Martin.
Alister McRae looks to have overcome his turbo boost problems having set 11th fastest time, just a couple of seconds off the pace of his Hyundai team mate Piero Liatti.
