Solberg learning from season

Petter Solberg is still happy at Subaru despite going an entire season without a rally win

The Norwegian also feels that there were plenty of positives to be taken from his difficult year, and that he can fight for victories again in 2007.

"We have learned a lot this year, maybe it's good to have a year like this in your career," he said.

"We've been through one year like this, but no more. We want to win, and that is the main thing."

Solberg remained upbeat towards the end of the season as the team improved, and he feels that they will make a lot of progress over the winter.

"We are on the right track now, and things are looking good," he said. "The guys are working flat out for next year, and there are so many obvious things to do that there will be a big change next year."

The 2003 champion is expecting a level playing field next year as well, as Subaru will join the other top teams on BF Goodrich tyres.

"With everybody on the same tyres there should be a level playing field, but we will see next year," he said. "Obviously, Pirelli has done a very good job, we have won many rallies with them, and maybe they will come back soon."
